Volunteers Needed
Windy Hill Foundation’s Family Services are always in need of volunteers to help with tutoring, after-school activities, or programs for our seniors. No experience necessary! We need only a willing heart.
Tutoring
Become a “Study Buddy.” If you can devote an hour and a half, once or twice a week throughout the school year, to making a difference in an elementary child’s life by helping to improve his or her reading skills, we need you to become a Study Buddy. Know that you do so at the risk of losing your heart to a new young friend.
Currently: Mondays and/or Thursdays 2:45 – 4:00 p.m.
After-School Activities
On non-tutoring days the children of all age groups (elementary, middle, and high school) meet at designated times in the newly renovated Community Room. Assist the children with their homework, reading, and having FUN!
Currently: Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays 3:00 – 6:45 p.m.
Programs for Our Seniors
Plan a program for our Seniors at Levis Hill House. Ideas include: playing the piano, leading a crafts class, or sponsoring a themed Bingo Night. Help bring the residents out of their apartments to enjoy social activities and form a close “community.” We can accommodate your schedule.
Friday’s Feast
Friday’s Feast is a program that provides meals every other Friday to families who reside at Windy Hill and Levis Hill House. Volunteers are asked to prepare dinner for six families at a time. Each family consists of 1-3 persons. The chefs are asked to provide meals twice a year. We would love for you to join the Friday’s Feast team! Bon Appetit!
